That's not a kukri, that's more of a parang-style mini machete I think.
A kukri has more of a curved blade. It's shaped kinda like a boomerang. This is more of a all purpose chopper. They discontinued them about a year ago and I pounced on it for a song.
I been waiting for a "what's your carry knife" thread to be started. I guess it fits in the gun forum.
A knife is a weapon of last resort, but even more importantly it's an everyday tool. For me I like Kershaws Kershaw Chill for a cheap but extremely well made flip knife. Lightweight, unobtrusive, gentleman's knife. My EDC carry knife of choice, particularly when traveling. Kershaw Ken Onion Blur - In my opinion the best blade on the market under $60 (or with upgraded steel for like $80. Assisted (i.e. - legal, but just barely) opening, strong wide blade, tactical and practical usage. Sometimes my carry knife, depending on mood.

I was seriously thinking of starting one. Maybe someone else should do the honors, or do you guys want me too? A knife thread...all knives!

Go for it, I have seen hot debates on the best type of steel to use in blades that rivals some of the heated political discussions in the politics board.
No defensive tool is worth its weight, unless you know how (and when) to use it.
I have a K-Bar that goes with me any time I am going into the country, but it is not something I can carry around my home town, or to work. My Schrade Old Timer is all I carry around regularly. I can use that well enough that I don't need the K-Bar for defense.
A pocket knife, a stun gun, or a can of Mace is excellent for defense, unless you really want to kill someone.
The point, of course, is that you don't go around brandishing your "tools" so someone who wishes to do you harm knows what you have to defend yourself.

I'm not afraid!

It's huge, heavy, fragile/weak,expensive,not durable, with a poorly supported feed ramp
