I stopped putting in for the draw a few years back. There is always additional doe tags available for deer and antelope. Last year, the hunt area across the road from me was unlimited for muley does. Most years, you can get an additional cow elk tag, over the counter and on some years, you can get general tags for deer, elk, and antelope, over the counter. So you really don't have to put in for the draw here unless you are out of state and want to make sure.

I should mention that the additional tags are limited in most areas. Say for instance area 121 was 400 additional tags, meaning the first 400 people could buy one over the counter. So you may not get the exact area you want, but you can always get tags somewhere.

Bear, moose and Big Horn Sheep are definately draws.

I will get a D6 so I can hunt in my back yard.
I would not mind a doe tag for A zone as my folks have a ranch on the coast.

You have to enter a drawing for a doe tag? Is it in a special area or something?

Here in Washington you buy a deer tag (tag is included in the price of the license), wait for the season to start and go hunting. Certain areas are doe or buck only, but that's it.

CA messed it up decades ago. Each zone is only open a few weeks. Opening day the deer cross the highway to the next zone on their migration and they are safe.

1) Just put in for a point in Colorado and California.

2) Bought an over the counter d3-d5 California tag.

Buddy tried to get me to go antelope hunting with him up Elk Hunter's way in Wyo but I decided to pass this year. Dad's not doing so hot so I'm hanging close.

Less than 2000 tags for any Deer hunt in S Cal. It's screwy.

I just moved away from CA a couple months ago. Now I live in VA where the tags are easily acquired. $23 gets me 1 bear, 6 deer, and 3 turkeys. Plus I understand that ferrel hogs are fair game and some years there is even a bounty on them.
