..........And since I'm dreaming, how about a (legal) HK G36C .......
I've been in love with that gun since I shot one at Impact Guns indoor range in Ogden almost a decade ago. Yes, I'd happily own one or two of those. A beltfed SAW would be good too.
An Barrett MRAD ...tried to find one this Spring at The Armory in Murfreesboro but was told they weren't out yet.
Then there's the pretty guns..........sigh. Dakota Arms rifle with custom engraving in the Model 76 Alpine (any or all calibers), A pair of SxS Merkle shotguns in 20 & 12 ga., An antique Drilling in like new condition.....
Well, the guide gun - it's similar to my most valuable rifle, a 1886 Lightweight Takedown in 45-70. I shoot it occasionally, you can make up a moderate cast bullet handload for these and it hits plenty hard, but does not kick all that much. The 45-70 is a lot better than paper ballistics might lead you to believe.
What do I want that I don't have? I'd like to have a Model 21 Winchester, I might actually buy a Scout, wouldn't mind a Freedom Arms 454, how about a Browning Superposed?
You know, you can still order drillings out of Germany, maybe others. I have always thought a 20ga imp. cyl, and modified, with a 30-40 under, would work right well. Could go ahead and make it a vierling, and add a .22 Hornet in the rib.
To digress a bit, one of my least valuable money-wise but most useful and used guns is an old Savage .22LR rimfire over a 20 ga 3" modified barrel. I ordered a butt-cuff from Murray Custom Leather, it carries 2 rows of 5 rounds of rimfire up front and 5 rounds of 20 gauge aft. It's worth about as much as the gat. I stuff that with mostly CB Longs in the rimfire department, but include a couple of Stingers and a couple of .22 shot shells. Then I put 3 Plain Jane #6 shot 1 oz 20 gauge shells and 2 3" maggies with #6 as well as I recall in the shotshell loops. Provided I have a minute to change out the CB and/or 2 3/4 shotshell that normally reside in the chambers for something else, there "ain't too much this old country boy can't do" with that gun. A really good hunter, one who could reliably get into range for a 20 gauge slug, could literally hunt "mice to moose" with it, and it's certainly OK for small game and up to deer, if one is willing to settle for a 20 gauge slug as a deer gun.
I would be easier for me to make a list of guns I DON'T want. Here it is below:
