Can anyone tell me the maximum range for a GP-100 .357 with a 3 inch barrel? The lit says +/-550 yards, but it doesn't refer to barrel length.

It's accurate out to about 50-100 yards with a barrel so short, lethal to more than a mile.

To really group well you'd have to be on nothing further than a 25 yard range. Over 20 mine starts to widen up fast. It's a good close range weapon.

We took it out yesterday and shot at around 15-25 yards. Didn't group real well.

I don't shoot all that often, so this one is going to take some getting used to. I selected the 3 inch barrel for size and home defense purposes, but it demands a stable hand.

Try getting good at much closer distances, like maybe 3 yards, and after you get good there move to 7 yards.

Real close up work will help you get accurate faster, and will help more with a new to you gun.

I did and still do that. Only fools will laugh at me. For once they have laughed, I will out shoot them at any distance they decide is right.

My 5 inch barrel is accurate to about 50 yrd. Truth be told it's probably accurate further than that. I'm just not steady enough to be consistent that far out.

Good advice, Mac. And I'm NOT laughing.

Any tips on the best kind of grip? I think my stance is called the "weaver", one foot slightly in front of the other, about three feet apart, upper body leaning forward slightly.
