I am still in shock. They blamed everyone but the boogie man. These people just don't know when to shut up. They should have just stayed quiet. LaPierre defiantly blamed violent video games and movies, the media, gun-free zones in school and other factors during the press conference.
You got to love them. they come out guns a blazing.
our children are left defenseless in schools with help miles away while you can not even go to an aquarium in washington without armed security being present. .
yes they were so right. It's the video games and the media and everything else. They are right the killer used a camera and flying disk to kill 27 people including himself and the media is just trying to convince us he used guns.
i dont believe you could have heard the conference and came away with "arm everyone" at no point was that said. it was all about installing armed professional security in the schools. just as we have protecting the politicians and the monuments.
both my wife and daughter are teachers in private religious schools and i am far from comfortable having that good guy with a gun miles from them if a need arises.
just maybe if that good guy with a gun was there to confront the bad guy with a gun 26 little children may have been celebrating the holidays with their families instead of everyone present being defenseless to face that monster.. .

Most Long Island High Schools had shooting teams for years. Many students would bring their guns to school. Nothing happened. No shootings. No killings.
Maybe its not the gun after all. Maybe its something else. But that's too hard to determine. So lets blame the gun.

I got tired of watching it online, I agree they should have kept their mouth shut. Asking the NRA's blessing to outlaw Assault Rifles is like asking a public service union what they would like to contribute. In both cases it's not their place to decide, if the goverment wants to make whatever type of firearm illegal or restricted then do it. I swear all these politicians worry more about pi**ing off a lobby group then just doing what is right and what their constituants want.

From my reading of the history of the 2nd amendment it seems the US supreme court has given the states the right to define "arm", but historically even the most liberal of states have not taken on the gun lobby.
