O.K., so I cleaned her up really good, put a good coat of rem oil on her, bought 2 different of ammo (Tula and American Eagle) and not a single misfire....

Tried the other ammo, and I could get 5 out before it would misfire....So, I'm assuming that it is the surplus ammo not firing correctly.

I have not figured out the weight of my buffer yet, it does not have a weight (symbol) on it and I don;t have a scale that goes that low. I'll figure that out down the road, just glad it shoots like it should!

Have you ever seen a Vietnam jungle carbine before Chuck? I have one here.....

When we get more sunlight I'll post a pic of it. You don't see them around much anymore.

What purpose does it serve?

It's an AR-15/M-16.....SBS combo. Rifle for distance, shorty shotty for CQB. Also works great for brush and dense area with flachete rounds. Hide behind those sticker bushes, I don't give a rip........

You also have the 12 gauge to use less than lethal special purpose rounds....OC...beanbags and also door breaching rounds. Blow the doorknob, lock and hinges right off a door. Little pig, little pig let me in!!! You know? lol

YOU BLEW MY DAMN DOOR OFF!!

Ah, yes I did!!

I call this one Frankenstein guys.

Vietnam jungle carbine built completely out of mil-spec and surplus parts. Colt, Bushmaster, FN, Rock River, and who knows what else (contract parts). This is the perfect example of what you can do for little money. Many of these parts came from U.S. Military bases that were closing and sold at an auction. I did opt for an A2 upper instead of an A1 because I like fully adjustable sights. The telestock is an old Government contract 3-position.

Check these 20 round mags out Chuck. USGI April 1969....a whole damn box. LOL The guys at the range want these B-A-D! LOL Nope, not selling guys....they are sentimental to me as well.

I have between $450 and $500 in it Chuck. It's been around here and me for a long time and many years though. In 2014 prices, you are probably close to about $700.

I know what it is. But I question it's purpose. There is a reason why you almost never see (and I hate to use the term, but it conveys the point) "Tier 1 Operators" using such a contraption. They are popular with the "Call of Duty" crowd, and with 02/07's with too much time on their hands, but that's about it.
