Not asking because I don't think people need guns, but its more of a how many is enough to get you by in good times and bad. I used to have three safes full but I sold off a lot because they owned me I did not own them. Took me three days to take them out clean and put rigs grease on them. I miss some but I got over it. I now am down to one safe. There are really only three or four guns I really use the rest are for SHTF scenarios. I feel like Ammo is more important than a lot of guns that without ammo are clubs.
For me, this would be a minimum number:
1 full size handgun (self defense when concealed carry is not required)
1 compact handgun (self defense, concealed carry)
1 shotgun (self defense, hunting)
1 .22 rifle (varmints, small game, plinking)
1 bolt action centerfire rifle (hunting)
1 AR-15 (self defense, plinking)
Need? Home Defense: 9mm Semi-auto for Me. .38 Revolver for wifey. High capacity magazine military short rifle with long bayonet for post-Hurricane work. If I ever obtain a CWL then a small revolver for inside waist band use.
Hopefully you're carrying it inside your waist band and not using it inside your waist band as stated!
But I'm still jonesing for a new 3rd Generation Colt Single Action Army in .357 Magnum.
