I like it, I think I have had it a couple of years. It is nothing fancy, it is painted and not blued, but it is accurate and goes bang. The only thing I did not like is that it has a FUGLY safety on the left rear side, I took mine off and filled the cut out with JB weld putty and sanded to shape and then repainted, you can't even tell it was ever there.
I carry it with .22 shorts or subsonic rounds to dispatch gophers, just took out a biggin this morning
It doesn't matter because they don't sell .22 ammo anymore.
Made me laugh.
Was ordering a gun case at Academy the other day and noticed several empty .22 cartons folded flat on the counter. I asked the clerk if that was trolling bait.

Not so fast, while traveling I stopped at Cabelas on I 78 in Hamburg PA just for a pee break and decided to see if they had any 22 lr. Saw a large crowd around the ammo isle so I figured something was going on. Had my choice of 5 different brands of 22 lr but could only buy one box of 500 or two boxes of 50. So I bought the box of 500 for $25.99.
The only time I ever find 22 lr is when I am not specifically looking to buy so if I find it by accident I buy.
What recommendations for a new .22 handgun? I am open to semi auto or revolver, and would like some of your recommendations on what to get, as well as what I should stay away from. Thanks.....
Ruger Mk II with a bull barrel, and with the Luger style grip.
Ruger Mark series is the best for .22LR. Browing isn't too bad either. I've found most .22LR handguns are low quality and overpriced except these 2. I've shot close to 10,000 rounds through my Mark III and have only had 6-7 jams.
I have two Ruger Single-Sixes. One I bought new in 1982 and a old three screw in pristine shape.
I just bought a old H&R six shot for $100, double action looks just like a Single-Six.
The one I am looking for is a old High Standard Double-Nine. Nine shot, swing out cyl and double action in the same size and shape as a Single-Six.
