So. Currently I have a Glock 19. Love it. But I find for an every day carry it is not always optimal. It tends to be a bit bulky and can be harder to conceal when wearing lighter clothing. After going through a ton of compact and subcompact weapons (Shields, XDs, LCPs, etc.) I think I have narrowed down my choices to the 26 or the 43. The ultimate debate always seems to come down to magazine capacity vs. conceal-ability.
I love that the 43 can basically be taken anywhere. I can carry it inside the waistband, outside, pocket, I love how thin it is. Downside of course being limitations on magazine capacity, and I generally I am told that compared to a 26 many find the gun to be too snappy.
26 is a double stack and the magazines are interchangeable with my 19, but many people have told me it is like carrying a brick sometimes, and that overall, it is not much easier to carry over my 19.
I am a bigger guy (6'0 ~295 lb). Right now I will be carrying on the outside of my waistband but as I lose more weight I want to eventually carry inside if I can get comfortable. I probably won't pocket carry either weapon.
So, what are your thoughts? For an everyday weapon, 43, 26, either?

You probably know this, but what you said isn't quite accurate. The 26 mags ARE NOT compatible with the 19. The 19 mags ARE compatible with the 26.
I prefer the Glock 43, it's small and compact, light-weight, and low-recoil. It also feels more ergonomic than the Glock 26. Another one you could look at is the Glock 42, it's a .380 so not sure how you feel about it but many people who conceal carry are perfectly fine with a .380. You mentioned magazine capacity as a worry, you can always buy magazine extensions. Although really there isn't that big of a difference between the Glock 26 and 43. Go look at the 42.
Take a look at the Shield in 9mm. It's another good option.
