"I don't really see myself shooting cast bullets. 90% of my shooting is done in an indoor range that doesn't allow their use so that is probably out for me. Of course, they don't allow reloads either so I'll be breaking that rule anyways."
I think you are referring to jacketed bullets (not cast) as some indoor ranges don't have sufficient traps for stopping them. I have shot cast bullets in dozens of indoor ranges without issue. I am surprised that they don't allow reloads though...
I have used a Dillon 550B for over 20 years and recommend their progressive press without reservation. Their lifetime, no BS, warranty is renowned and can't be beat. As a result I buy as much as I can from them.
Most of you probably know this already, the founder of Dillon Precision, Mike Dillon passed away in November of 2016. The company was founded in Scottsdale, Arizona in the mid 1980s. Although most of my reloading equipment are of different brands, I do own a couple of Dillon Precision products, and I'd buy any of their products without any reservations.
Dillon's sons and daughter are now running Dillon Precision, I hope they carry on with same traditions Dillon is best known for.
I do a little reloading, but only for the .338WM. Started with a T-Mag II turret press, and now use the mother of all tappet presses, the Redding T-7. I go nice and easy, and develop a few hunting loads with the 225-grain Barnes TTS-X (or whatever it's called).
.300 win mag 180 grain sierra game king. 74 grains 4831 and win large mag primer out of 24 inch barrel chronoed at 3207 fps average. So, I'm duplicating most weatherby loads.

Several years when I realized that at my advancing age, a "combo gun" would serve me well when sitting in my tree stand. I am blessed that the tree stand is located about 400 yards from my house in a small grove of Aspen and Pondarosa pine very close to a 40 foot wide stream that is my southern property boundary.
White Tail deer and wild turkey on occasion will both come within 20 yards of my position.
In 2005 I happened across a listing for a 7mm x 57R / 16ga O&U (aka "cape gun or "combo gun). MFG by Antonio Zoli.
I am not always successful in filling both tags.......but on a couple of occasions it has happened.......Normally I have handloaded all of my rifle ammo for everything from 22/250 to .375 H&H since 1960, but
since I don't use it for other hunting situations, I found a source for the rifle ammo mfg by Sellior & Bellot on the internet and the 139gr soft point have been deadly on the deer.......never had one take more than one or two steps with a neck (spinal) shot............

The internet has been a great source for oddballs. I started loading back in the 70s as a youngster. Living out in a small town with only 2 ammo dealers it was hard to get a good deal on calibers like .300 wm. I quit loading but kept my gear when I moved to CA and the most recent situation here in meant busting open the boxes would be a good idea. My gear literally set around for 15 years untouched except for moving it from place to place.
Since then I've been really interested in C & R firearms. I picked up this old Steyr for 100 bucks and it looks brand new. For whatever reason the State of CA doesn't treat C & R as "scary" like they do the AR and AK. You can still get good deals on a lot of older weapons around here.
Ok, just started respooling for CA's stupid anti lead laws. Anyone have a good source for heavy shot or a variant for steel shot? We are sure gonna lose a lot of birds now.
I'll need to find some place with copper for few oddball rifle rounds too. .312 copper pills.
Best thing about Grafs besides good prices and availability, is that shipping is one fixed price of $7.95 no matter what you have in the order. Hazmat excluded of course. Most other places the shipping would be crazy expensive. I've all but quit dealing with Potterfield because of it. Even his specials can't compete with Grafs.
