Skeet/Dove loads 7.5 shot/1.0 ounce $8.00 plus tax this week here in North Alabama, down from $10 plus tax. I bought four flats, could have had more.

Yeah this aligns with my observations that particularly light 12 gauge loads are now available OTC for prices not much more than the components would cost you to load them.

Although some of these are quite disappointing for hunting ammo. I have found trap loads to be better dove ammo than the ones sold as dove ammo.

Not much in 410, yet.

This is good, in a way. it means they have a glut those loads, so, hopefully, they will begin producing other loads, in better quantity.

True trap loads (not the Trap & Field promo loads) are quite a bit better due to premium, high-antimony shot. Better shot will always pattern better. Plus a real trap load will almost always be 1 1/8 oz vs 1 oz, or even 7/8 oz with the really cheap shells.

Unfortunately, true target loads still tend to command premium prices.

Yeah, the real competition Trap loads are much better for dove hunting than the "dove and quail" shells marketed. The real Trap loads do indeed cost more, but are more effective loads for the hunt and the empty hulls are usually more desirable as well. I have had a few guys raise an eyebrow at me showing up with Trap loads to a hunt, but usually by the end of the day they are convinced the Trap loads are worth the extra money.

IMHO hard shot is more important than having more shot weight or a heavier load of powder, and harder shot like in the 1 1/8 Trap load does not kick hard.

Yeah .410 is still hard to find anywhere except with bird shot. I haven’t seen my home defense .410 load in ages…I forget the specs, but it’s a 3” shell with 11/16oz of, I think, no. 7 shot.

That is a good price for even a cheap target round.

From the various things I have read, it seems like it will remain very scarce for a long time.

I think that a lot of people who bought "Judge" revolvers are going to be peeved.

Judge owners probably have a leg up on me - mine is a Stoeger coach gun, which isn’t proofed to fire .45 Colt.

Sooo, $8. Is that for a box of 25 shells?
How many boxes in a "flat?"
(I am temped to think 500 boxes of 25 shells, which comes out 12,500 rounds.)
