I have owned a lot of the cheap throw away small caliber semi-auto pistols. Never had a serious problem with any of them. The one POS pistol out of easily the 30+ I have owned was a Taurus PT-908. I bought it new when they first came out. When ejecting the spend casings they just randomly flew in all directions including directly into your forehead on occasion.
my XDS in .45. I cant hear for an hour after using it. its a great "holy sh**" pocket gun for the carjacking defense but it wont stop a bear until he is already eating me.
I want something else. I really want a 29 in 6" so I can go 'do you feel lucky punk', but I miss my glocks. mebbe one in .40

Looking for a "pocket sized gun", look at a Glock 42. 380 caliber, less recoil which is important for a small light weight gun.

Good electronic hearing protecting ear muffs are easy to find at any sporting goods or gun store and are not expensive. Or mail order them.
I have owned 2 or 3 different Taurus semiautos in various calibers. Every one of them had an issue of one kind or another and just felt and looked cheap. I have shot one of their 357 Magnum revolvers and it's a completely different story.
I'm not a gun guy but my friend is. A few years back I was over at his house and he showed me his Desert Eagle. Wow! What an impressive piece! He ended up selling it for a profit and his rationale was if a perp broke into his house and he fired that gun, the bullet won't stop until it pierces 3 or 4 homes LOL.

Their revolvers are indeed superior to their semi auto offerings. However, their revolvers are copies of various S&W revolvers. Shoot the Tuarus’ offerings alongside the original S&W offerings, and I agree - it’s a completely different story.
Keltec PF9, Grendel 22LR. Both went down the road pretty quickly. The Keltec to a retired Sheriff that is a friend, another buddy just had to have the Grendel, was still trying to tweak the magazines the last time I saw him. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
