Lighten them naturally and save yourself the $. Pour some baking soda, honey, and hydrogen peroxide into a bowl and mix it. Once it becomes a paste, apply it onto your roots like you would hair dye. With a dye brush to help of course. Leave it on for 30 or 40 minutes and your roots will be light. Re-do as many times as it takes for it to match your hair.
If you opt for Color Charm, which is concentrated and thus goes a long way, all you have to do is mix 1 part color with 2 parts developer...
Concerning Wella's Color Charm- Does the color and developer come together in the package/box?
My hair color is light golden brown.
From this link, what would I buy? I'm still alittle confused.

I leave the hair color on all of my hair for 5 minutes. Roots- 20 minutes.
I used the 2 boxes of Revlon Color Silk and liked it. I didn't have to re-apply the color for 6 weeks! I didn't do any touch-ups in between.
I think it must have been the Clairol Nice N easy that was fading so quickly my roots would show too soon for me!
Thanks again!

From the link you posted you can get either the liquid (1st on left) or Gel Color Charm (3rd), those are permanent, the one in the blue box is not.
If you're happy with the Color Silk perhaps you should stick with it, I've used it many times, even recently. But do remember to use a protein-rich deep conditioner at least once a month to keep your hair in good shape, a little oil doesn't hurt either, it helps to lock in moisture and to add shine, it's best used when mixed with your "instant" conditioner or very sparingly when your hair is still damp.
Professional color does not come in kits, you have to buy the developer separately, here's the one I use:Salon Care - Salon Care 40 Volume Creme Developer 4 oz.

Oh, what a great compliment, you made my day, lol! I'm very glad I could help.
Oh, I can't remember if I already suggested this but maybe you'd like to consider washing your hair with a silicone-free conditioner instead of shampoo, this has become pretty popular these days. I've been doing it for 10 years now (wow, can't even believe it's been so LONG!), I learned by reading this book. CO-washing, as some people call it, helps keep the color vibrant longer, and I'd say it's a must if your hair is naturally curly or wavy, but if you've seen the WEN infomercials you know any type of hair that's been chemically processed in any way can benefit greatly from this.
And while you're still shampooing (if you do, which I really don't know!) or for anyone who does, DILUTE it with an equal part of water in one of those Colorsilk applicator bottles before applying and you'll see you need A LOT less. Many years ago I read a hair care book by some expert (whose name I've forgotten...), and he said this would not only help distribute the shampoo more evenly throughout the head but that all shampoos were really concentrated anyway. It saves money too! And if you want to start CO-washing right away you can use your shampoo as body wash, that way there will be absolutely no waste!
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, this is a subject I DO enjoy, lol!
