I'm talking about those little feathery (or real feather) hair extensions that you clip into your hair, not the full-on bouffant fake hair pieces. As long as you're careful not to brush them out or melt them with a curling iron, they'll stay in place for 6-8 weeks. Like this:

Anyone else do these? Last year I bit the bullet and quit coloring my hair, now I am mostly silver with strands of darker gray. I didn't want to look dowdy or matronly so I've been doing a couple of feathers threaded into my hair. I change them around with each trim, so about every 6-8 weeks. Last time I had green and lavender ones, today I had some striped brown/grey feathers put in, quite subtle. Just two narrow feathers, behind my ear.

I love it. I imagine there are those who think that hair accessories like this are unbecoming for a 55-year-old (I do not have the type of job where it matters) and that's OK.

Anyone else do these? If so, where do you have them?

I have seen them, but they are not for me...... I do think they look good on some people.

I think they're cute and interesting, but I also think they've about run their course trend-wise. I don't think I've seen one for about 3-6 months now.

I didn't realise it was a trend, really? I don't pay attention to trends...the lady who cuts my hair usually has a couple and I thought it looked cute.
Oh well. That's OK, I'll keep them unless I decide to go short-short hair again.
