I have one old hairbrush that has stiff nylon bristles on it. The bristles are long and stiff enough to reach to my scalp and they are fairly close together. There used to be a lot of brushes like this and they distribute oils through the hair very well. I use it especially right before shampooing because it pulls the cells and oil from the scalp onto the hair and makes shampooing easier. Otherwise, I really have to massage the heck out of my scalp and sometimes shampoo twice.

Does anyone sell the old brushes? I have seen some with tough bristles, but they have short bristles and are those squared off brushes fit for a man's hair. Boar bristles are too soft to reach the scalp. Bristles with balled tips have bristles spaced too far apart and do not do a good job in redistributing oils.

Not old but what about this one?

Spornette 964-XL Double Stranded Nylon Round Brush | Folica.com

It just reminds me of those older styled brushes. Is it too loose bristled? There are a TON of brushes on that site.

Thanks. I'll look at the site. I just get my hair tangled up in totally round brushes.

I did like that brush, though, and looked for others by the same manufacturer. I found this in Amazon and will give it a try. Thanks a lot for your recommendation.
