I wasn't sure what to search for here and didn't see anything related. I have fine straight hair (but I have a lot of hair) - I finally sprang for a real haircut, short, it was cut w/a razor for more definition (yay - but I can't blow it dry as she did (I explained to her I have an issue w/my hand and can't do that - need either an air dry or if in a rush a turn my head upside down and whip dryer around). I love that there are lots of layers but I want some lift and definition. Products I've tried might look good briefly but feel greasy, sticky, etc. - blonde hair IMO looks dirty w/this stuff on it instead of styled. I've tried the hand scrunching, etc. but it just falls flat

Yrs. ago I found something I LOVED - but of course it's been discontinued - it was just applied to roots, didn't make hair look greasy or anything. I tried a Garnier root lift thing but it's a mousse (and also feels greasy).

Any tips? (I can't afford to keep buying products that I hate!)

Recently I put a lot of layers in my LOB and like the result. My hair is also fine, but there is plenty of it. You're correct, finding a root lifter that does not feel heavy or greasy is a challenge. Currently I am using Aveda Air Control which is marketed as a hair spray and I am pleased with how it is working. Generally I do well with Aveda. My hair is a true medium brown with no red or ash tones.

You got my curiosity- what is the product you liked that is now discontinued?

Thanks for the reply - are you spraying it on your roots?

I had to go upstairs to my "stash" for the product - I've been saving it "for special occasions" - it's Theorie Up Root. When I figured out it was nowhere to be found anymore it was too late - It has an applicator end so you can apply it just to your roots - LOVE it.
