I didn't dye my hair at all until my "brown" was no longer "always brown" I use home product occasionally to cover the gray. I have no idea how many times, but I've been doing it for several years now.

I am 56 years old and have never put hair dye or a perm anywhere near my head.

Lots of times. I am a brunette, but I've done red, hot pink, blue, and blonde.

I turned grey prematurely so I have colored my hair every 6 - 8 weeks for over 35 years now. Initially had it done at salons for maybe the first 5 years until I finally got enough courage to try a store bought color and I have never turned back. The boxed coloring turned out even better than the salon colorings, has saved me beaucoup bucks, saved LOTS of time over the years and I can do it on my time and not be at the mercy of someone else. 35 mins for the coloring and I'm done!

My mother was/is the queen of home hair dying. She colored mine a super cute caramel color for the first time when I was 17. I dyed it myself several times that year just to experiment with different looks. Then I got bored with coloring it. I go through phases of wanting different colors every few years.

So to answer your question (lol) probably about 30-40 times.

I dyed my hair at least once every month for about 15 years. Finally got sick of it at age 54 and let it go natural - I didn't even know what color it would be!

It turned out to be a very pleasant sort of ombre - dark around the neckline and ears fading to nearly solid white at the top - well, white and blonde, so not much difference between the two but it does have a gold sort of sheen to it.

I LOVE it and it looks so much better with my complexion!

Never going back to dying it again.

9 years next month. I did chemical dye for the first 2 years, than switched to henna in March 2010.

Back in the 60's, a lot.....after trying different colors I decided my natural honey blond color looked best, haven't dyed my hair since then. Now, being 70 and getting some grey, I may color it again in the future.

About a bajillion times. change is fun!

My hair has been:
partly peroxide blond-white (the curly top and rat tail--it was the '80s!)
purple
green
black (looked awful!)
various shades of henna red
ash blond
ash brown

And it has ranged from about an inch long to maybe 18" long. Both curly and straight, as well.

My original color was a mousy brown; my roots are currently rather gray.

Now I'm working on growing out the henna so I can dye some fun colors like pink and blue.
