Bangs seem to be long, some almost in your eyes. In 50's pictures bangs were usually cut short. Do you think the trend will go from long back to short anytime soon? (Yeah, I cut mine too short! )
I read a fashion thing not too long ago, that said bangs, period, were out, and NO ONE should have them at all.
I went "Pfftt!"
IMO, if short bangs look nice on you...than you're rocking short bangs, and let everyone else be jealous. ;-) If you're not happy with your short bangs, well...they'll grow out soon enough. I'm trim my bangs every couple of weeks, when they start getting in my eyes. I like mine a good half inch above my eyebrows.
Not sure of their status as far as popularity, but I've always liked asymmetrical short bangs and had mine cut that way once. I really liked it. Similar to these:

She wears her bangs kind of short, and I think it looks cute on her. Kind of retro.
(And I kind of like the picture you posted as well, of the asymectrical bangs.)
Oh, that's right, Mandy. I'm surprised I didn't think of her. Yes, they're adorable on her. Sometimes her look reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. (I'm also envious of her dream job of making and selling fashions out of the home. )
The gamin bangs thing will break through every now and then and have a resurgence of popularity...around here, we last saw it being a thing in probably the late 2000s; not widespread, but popular within a certain aesthetic...the pinup style, bombshell boutique, roller derby crowd kinda embraced it most recently.
I'm a big fan of wearing the style that suits you, and not worrying about what is trending.
