Hair Thinning #hairdresser #cut (long)

So I went to the hairdresser around a month ago and I asked for layers. I had really thick and poofy hair, and the hairdresser said she would thin my hair out. I didn’t really know what this meant so I just let her. After that my hair has been pretty thin and people said it would grow back in around a month. It has been a month already and my hair is still pretty thin. I’m really tired of this and I’m really sad because I feel as if most of my hair is gone. How long will my hair take to grow back given that it has been a month since My hair has been thinned?

hair grows about 1/2 inch a month, so however long you want it, that's how long it will take to grow out

Has it grown out? Is it skinny and scrawny stringy hair? Did you have to cut it all off and start again? This just happened to me and my story is a nightmare.
