That video makes it look pretty easy for that haircut. I wish I could get away with that cut but it doesn't work with my features. Unfortunately for me I need more hair to soften my rather severe features and thin face. Guess I'll be keeping my hairdresser in business.

Years ago, though, I did cut my longer hair into a shaggy layered 'do. I put it in a hairband on top of my head and cut it straight across. After taking off the band it fell in layers. It wasn't a total disaster but then it was long enough to put up so I could hide any problems. Not an option anymore.

This is the one I've been watching. I wear my hair very short like this. Haven't gotten up the nerve yet, but I am getting closer every day! Or maybe my husband will cut it for me.

Ya lori, I saw her video in my research, and it was between her and the one I used (and one other from France? Spain?...don't recall). I went with the shorter vid.

I just cut mine. Have been thinking about it for a long time. In the meantime the longer my hair got and bugged me on my neck the more I knew I had to do it. With Covid cases on the rise, cancelled a hair appt. I thought, I can do this. I have very short hair, sort of pixie and was even thinking of going buzz cut, but didn't go that far.

I bought the trimmer kit and scissor kit with assorted items and literally stared at them for over a week, just thinking about it. I watched all the youtube videos too and that gave me confidence. And it does grow back 1/2in a month so even if there is a, damn went too far moment, not to worry. Plus, I'm home 99% of the time...

It feels so much better!!

Default Love pixie haircuts!

To anyone who is thinking of getting a pixie, here is a website with some great pixie cuts on real women:

https://therighthairstyles.com/category/haircuts/pixie/

There is also a salon in New York City that does only short hair cuts for women:

https://cropsforgirls.com/

Pixie cuts can be very feminine, sporty, and youthful.

DH DIYed it.

I noticed yesterday that he missed a good sized area on the back of his head just above the hairline. He has a kind of "mini mullet"!

Finally got around to ordering the scissors and clipper comb guards today. DH is going to cut my hair! At this point, I don't care how he chops it off. I want those long bangs and that hair on my neck (shudder) GONE. I haven't left the house very much in 5 months, so if the cut is less than great, I can live with it. Hubby has an artist's streak in him, so I am hopeful he will do a good job. If not, oh well! Still not going to the salon!
