I think damp hair + pomade and anti-humidity hairspray work better than gels or anything for that. Gels always flake on me.

Type of pomade depends on her hair.

Redkens "Forceful 23" hairspray! (they're products are in numerical order and also have a name like forceful associated with them) It is a MIRACLE hair spray! It does not flake and you can layer it without it looking nasty! (it's pricey, but you can get one of the little "sample" cans for less then $4.00 at your local Ulta)

It not only locks out humidity and moisture but it locks in style.

I use to "slick back" my hair out of my face with this stuff. I'd just blow dry my hair back, straighten it and spray this stuff with my hair smoothed back and it would usually stay put pretty well.

Check out the Got2B Freeze Spray and Hair Glue. I use these on wigs as well as my own hair. Waterproof (pain in the rear to wash out, though), no flaking, and it lasts forever.

This is the stuff people use to get foot-long mohawks - that's how well it works.

That got2b stuff is INSANE on hold. When your daughter washes it out (or you madame k) wash it out with conditioner first. It feels like it comes out more easily and evenly.
It really does have great hold and a little bit goes a long way.

When I found it, I swear it had a halo, pretty white wings, and a bright white spotlight on it. Got2B freeze spray and hair glue are both amazing products that are not expensive at all. Last bottle of freeze spray I bought only cost me $5. The glue is somewhere around $4.

As for washing it out, I have found that Garnier Fructis shampoo worked miraculously well. I keep a bottle for this purpose. Garnier Sleek and Shine or Length and Strength shampoo, then the Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner.
