you can buy the powder mix color if you are just trying to cover grey. i know of a japanese brand called bigen which is ammonia free. you just mix a little with water to make a paste in a nonplastic bowl and apply for about ten minutes, in your case just to roots which is even faster and easier. it's permanent and will cover grey and/or color.
easy, efficient and is inexpensive. it's like around 4 or five dollars. the colors are basic though from light brown(light chestnut) variations to black.
Well so far I like the Clairol better, it's more natural looking and seems to be lasting longer, so I will definitely use it again. And it's cheaper than the Feria.
I would tell you to stick with the nice and easy. sounds to me like your hair just grows fast! mine does too. the best thing to do is to watch for the clairol coupons in the paper and take advantage of the sales at walgreens or jewel-osco. a lot of times they have nice and easy on sale for $5.99 and the coupons are usually for $2 bucks off. sometimes it is $5 off two boxes! get on their email list and they let you know when the coupons are in the sunday paper! truthfully, even if it is not on sale, using a $7 box of haircolor to touch up the roots every 3 to 4 wks is pretty cost effective.
I have tried every hair color at the stores and none of them on my hair lasts longer than 3 weeks. I have just come to the conclusion that I need to recolor my hair every 3 weeks. I have been coloring this often for about 2 years now and I just condition my hair alot to prevent dryness. I also like the new shampoo by L'oreal that is for color treated hair that prevents fading.
