I didn't really like it. It was very shallow and it seemed that Chris was just skipping around on certain topics while ignoring others. The movie had potential but it was wasted. Also, I didn't like the stereotypes and 'black jokes' that he peppered around in it. -_-
Another thing that I did not like about Chris Rock's documentary is that he did not highlight the natural hair movement which is growing by leaps and bounds. He also did not discuss the full extent of the Korean domination (and very nasty business tactics) of the Black hair care industry.
Here's a much better documentary on the subject...
I saw the movie recently and thought it was excellent! I really didn't have a clue how much work, time, and money is spent on hair. What an education!
On to the videos in this thread - I was not aware of the foothold the Koreans have in the hair industry - that was another eye opener. Excellent posts.
