Well, it's official! My husband and I will be moving to Virginia Beach in less than two weeks! We would really appreciate suggestions as far as what to do first and how to get to know the area best! For a reminder we are moving from the Midwest, are in our mid twenties, have no children (besides our dog :-))and have a very broad range of interests... Looking very forward to this next chapter in our lives. Don't let me down, throw some suggestions our way!

At your age, try to live in Ghent in Norfolk. It can be a little pricey, and it might be hard to find a rental that accepts dogs, but it is the best place for someone in their mid twenties. Virginia Beach itself is mostly subdivisions and strip malls, which are good for older people with children.

What kind of lifestyle are you looking for?

Agreed.

Ghent can be tough to scout out in my opinion, due to the invisible "boundaries" that separate it from lessay, college neighborhood to urban Norfolk, etc. etc., but I wish I had tried harder to live there.

And keep that positive attitude!
