Is it just me, or does the population sometimes seem like its a lot higher than whats reported?

This weekend as I was driving around from city to city, going to all the different malls and shopping centers, stopping past relatives houses, and attending a few cookouts, I was looking at the amount of people that were out and about and it was just crazy. So many cars and people......

Granted I know that its the summertime and that there are tourists all around, plus college students are returning with fall semester about to start up, but even in the off season, there seems to be more people than the 1.7 million or so that they say we have here.

Does anyone else feel like there are more people here than whats reported?

Also that the area is geographically cramped, so, more people crowding on top of each other, which would lend to an appearance of there being more people than what's reported.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if there is more population than the estimates say there is. The estimates were put out a few years ago, so who knows how many have moved in since then.

To be honest, I could never feel that HR is that big. You have the military which takes out folk as they place new folk in. Maybe spending most of my time in HR in North Hampton or York Co. gave me the impression of a small-town feeling.
