Hi, I'm currently living in Chesapeake and moving to Olde Towne mid-September and was wondering if anyone could give me any opinions on the best route in and out of the cities. My son goes to daycare in Great Bridge and I work in Greenbrier .. I have to be at work at either 8:15, 8:30 or 8:45 depending on the day. I know the Downtown Tunnel gets a bit rough but I'm not sure of the times and the same with the Gilmerton. I wasn't sure if I'd be going against the traffic or not, so any opinions would be extremely helpful.

Thanks!

The Downtown Tunnel can be hectic anytime of day. Otherwise I'd suggest taking that, then to 464 (the right-hand exit as soon as you get out of the tunnel). After you get out the tunnel, usually you're driving against the traffic on I-464.

Take 464 to 64, then get off at Battlefield Blvd. or Greenbrier Pkwy.

It might be a bit out the way, but there is the Western Freeway to I-664. You'd be in the opposite direction of the Midtown Tunnel near Ghent.
