Well, I was wondering, now that we are here. What is there beyond just the beach? Oh any suggestions on where to get the usual stuff (furniture, apartment stuff) for decent prices? What is there that is fun to do? I don't really do the bar scene much, but the occasional hang out is fine.

Oh we are at South Beach Apartments (about a mile away or so). I am into Movies, Video Games, Anime, Music, Traveling, Exercise, The Beach (obviously lol), Good Food, and fun times. Just wondering if there are "Geek" Area's, etc.

Because of the large military community in this area, Craigslist is an amazing resource for furniture and other apartment needs. I seriously picked up the fluffiest and puffiest couch in the world off of Craigslist, and the guys only wanted $5 for it.

For fun stuff, when I'm not working, going to school, and making costumes, it's tea parties, picnics, and other community gatherings. Plus, Busch Gardens is nice.

Yup. A lot, actually.

Hampton Roads is now home to three anime conventions. Two have already happened (ChibiCon and AMA), but the next one is Nekocon in November. If you want to meet local anime/video game "geeks", that'd be a good way to start. ((If you decide to go, let me know?))

If you're looking for a small Anime/Video Game groups for the Southside, there's Chibi Otaku which has about 80 members.

Some of the local hangout spots for "geeks" are Flipper McCoy's down at the Oceanfront, and the Greenbrier Mall arcade.

Those are some Awesome Links! Yeah I was going to attend ChibiCon but couldn't with my timing. The recent convention I went to was Otakon. I am more used to conventions further up north (My original homestead was in NY). I will have to check out those hang out spots and see how things look. I laughed when I went into Fuddruckers and saw someone with a Deathnote T-Shirt. Any Fantasy or Sci Fi hang outs or anything? Been wanting to do 3.5 campaign lately (miss it from back home).
