We own a camper and need to refill the propane bottles. I DO NOT want to exchange them. Where can we go and fill them up in the Hampton Roads area? Preferrably close to Langley AFB. Thanks.

We fill ours at U-Haul, there are many in every city.

RT, Checked with our local campgrounds- KOA and American Heritage and they wanted about $5 a gallon to fill her up. And its amazing how many don't understand this concept. I have called numerous places and they tell us, "sure, bring it in". We get there and they want to do an exchange. How hard is it to understand, "No exchage, a refill. We don't want to buy a new tank or to exchange ours, we want to fill our 4 propane tanks up!" Crazy!

Got her done at Uhaul off of Mercury Blvd. But we spent quite a bit of $ on driving around to establishments who said "yes that they could fill her up" and turned out it was exchange only. Are that many people ignorant on the difference between exchange of refill?

I use the local BJ's Wholesale Clubs. Always cheaper than anywhere else.

Bj's does a swap, Sam's does too. I prefer to refill though. The U-Haul on S. Plaza trail is pretty good. The one on Va Beach Blvd. at Aragona is pretty decent as well.

Actually, BJ's does refill too. I use the one on Virginia Beach Blvd. I take my large RV cylinders there and they refill them for me. The one in Norfolk also does refills to. You have to go around the back where the auto center is to get the refill.
