My Husband and I are looking for income based apartments for disabled people preferably or regular income based housing and when I say this I mean the rent is based on your income not just cheap rent. We are looking for apartments in virginia beach. If anybody knows of any please let me know. I will also like suggestions anywhere in hampton roads and if you know others states you may tell me too but please start with virginia beach. We are both getting SSD so we are not getting very much. I am 25 and he is 39 and we are quite and were also not looking to be in the hood if we do not have too. Please help if you can.

You may want to contact the Social Services Department in Virginia Beach, as they would be able to provide a listing and some guidance on what is "in the hood" and what isn't.

Another place you might try is Endependence (yes, that is how it is spelled) Center Disability Advocacy and Services. They're on E Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach, but they handle multiple areas in Hampton Roads. Their phone number is 757-461-8067. They have a lot of informaton on income based housing.

You're on a hard road. Federal funds are basically used up. Lists are either closed or are so lengthy that it's overwhelming. But don't give up. Good luck.
