GREAT sports weekend in HR.

The Virginia Duals are at the Hampton Coliseum all day Friday and Saturday. For amateur wrestling fans, it's a fun weekend. A bunch of Virginia colleges are competing: ODU, UVa, Liberty U, VMI, and the Apprentice School. There are also many local high schools that are taking part.

The Norfolk Admirals are hosting Connecticut Whale Friday and Saturday night at Scope. Saturday night's game is a fundraiser for Special Olympics.

Lots of college basketball in Tidewater this weekend:
The ODU men host George Mason Saturday 2 pm at the Ted.
The ODU women play the James Madison Dukes Sunday at 3 pm.
Norfolk State has a doubleheader Saturday against Bethune-Cookman. The women tipoff at 4 pm, the men follow sometime around 6 pm.
William & Mary men fight JMU Dukes Saturday night at 7.
Virginia Wesleyan Marlins has a double header Saturday afternoon. The men host Washington & Lee at 2 pm. The women go against Guilford College at 4.

Have fun this weekend!

For over 25 years, Cy Curnin has been connecting with audiences through his music. Known for evocative lyrics and distinctive vocals, he developed a solid reputation in modern rock circles as the lead singer of The Fixx. In recent years, Cy has also carved out a solo career that has produced a number of CDs, including Mayfly (2005), The Returning Sun (2007) and his current release, Solar Minimum (May, 2009).

Born and raised in England, Cy had been singing in various bands around London when he met Adam Woods and they began to put together their own group, placing ads in local newspapers. Following the addition of guitarist Jamie West-Oram and Rupert Greenall on keyboards, The Fixx were signed to MCA and soon became an early staple on MTV through a string of thought-provoking tracks (” Red Skies,” “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Saved By Zero,” etc.) that generated platinum album sales. The band continues to attract new fans through the release of new material, regular airplay on classic rock radio and a formidable touring schedule.

My family is headed for Virginia Beach April 6th-12th for cheerleading worlds and I was wondering if there was anything going on then? We have been there in May the last 3 years, but never this early in the spring and are going to be looking around for a possible move to the beach area. We have it narrowed down to Las Vegas or Virginia Beach, already lived in Vegas and love it but we love this area also. Our oldest is going to ODU in a couple of years and our son wants to attend VCU, so it would make sense to be close. Are the schools hiring for element. teachers? How is the youth athletic programs in the beach area?

thanks for any imput................
