I have been lurking here for a little while. I have an interview with CG at 5300 Robin Hood in Norfolk and would like to hear about working there.

Naturally, I am also interested in places to live. We have teenage kids so good schools are necessary. We would also like a decent sized lot, 1/2 acre or larger; at least 3 bedrooms, 2 bath. Perhaps in the $250,000 - $300,000 range. I would prefer to a commute that wouldn't take all day.

How has the real estate market been there? I would be coming from a lower cost of living area where the market didn't follow the rapid appreciation of the past few years and but remains reasonably firm.

Thanks for any input.

My neighbor works there and hates it. But if you must work there then live in Suffolk, near harbourview area off of Bridge rd (route 17). Far commute but worth getting away from the hustle and bustle.

Default American Funds

Hello,
American Funds in located in a very nice office park in Norfolk. You have to have a Philly Cheesesteak from Fat Philly's at the corner of Robin Hood Road and Azalea Garden Road. it's awesome. Anyhow you can find what you need by looking at the VA MLS online. There are alot of locations that are nice , but prices have gone up alittle. Be careful of some areas in Norfolk, Norview, Park Place, Huntersville, these are the kind of places that have high crime. You should check out Virginia Beach (Kempsville, Salem Lakes, have the best high schools) you may find some nice deals in Lynnhaven, Pemboke and out at the Ocranfront, this area has the highest and quickest Real Estate Appreciation in all of the seven cities. Do your homework, Good Luck!
