When are the busiest times for the both, i.e. what times should I try to avoid going through them?

Don't ever go through the HRBT, only go the MMBT if you can.

I normally go thru the HRBT at 6am...no problems. I'd say 6:30 am is busy and 4pm til 6:30 pm is busy. Depending on where you live and what time you have to be wherever you are going, you will have to use your better judgement.

You should almost never have problems going through the MMMBT.

Like others have said, HRBT is terrible during rush hours. And vacation periods, I might add.

For the HRBT it all depends on the direction. In the morning, southside to peninsula is usually pretty clear but in the afternoon it can be terrible. Peninsula to southside is usually about 2-3 mile backup in the morning and afternoon.
