So I'm back again, was offered base housing, thought about it NOPE!! What about the Lafayette area of Norfolk?? Racine Ave? I'm to the point that I can't really put much in anything because there is a different opinion on each area. I understand hood and crime..I'm grew up in an area full of it but I'm trying to keep my kids as safe as possible. i noticed Hamptons Roads people have the rental prices so jacked up its pathetic, there is no reason to take advantage of the military just because you know Norfolk is the main place we go. Then the property mangers are the worst, they have no sense of urgency in renting homes, they reply when they feel and really offer no assistance, I don't use one when renting my home for just that reason, lack of customer service. Then they ask for silliness.. so you want me to send you a credit check fee...all my info including social, a deposit for you to hold until you decide that you may or may not rent to me??? WTF, i think not!! One lady asked me for my LES, a credit report, and application and my W2's...lady I'm renting not buying..crazy as hell.

I am a homeowner 2 times so I understand the need to have your home kept up to par, but I chose my own tenants and take care of my own property because a rude realtor is not the business.

Any thoughts on the area in Norfolk would be welcomed. Oh and on Maury and Granby High schools!!
