Can anyone share info/experiences (good or bad) about property management companies in Chesapeake Va? I've been renting out my condo (long term 10+ years-for down the road retirement) since moving from the area after military service. My first property management company (NOT a Realtor-if that makes a difference) was GREAT, but sold their business to a "big name" area real estate company with a property management division. I've had nothing, but constant headaches ever since. Mostly the issues have been with tenants and myself being charged for repairs/maintenance that was never actually done, the Realtor relying on the "word" of contractors rather than checking the unit out themselves, and non responsiveness...including when tenants (and also myself) called the property managers "emergency line" to report a bone fide emergency.

Are there any property management companies in the area, who owners (or renters) are happy with? Do any of these management companies actually provide the services they advertise and contract too?

It's pretty frustrating to be states away paying for contracted property management services (now on my second real estate company), feeling ripped off, extremely frustrated, and pretty much like I'm handling everything (maintenance and emergency wise) long distance myself.

Any recommendations (or stay away froms!) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your response. I have your company's info and will give them a call, as the end of my contract nears.

I was hoping for feedback based on actual experiences of renters or owners. Seems people are hesitant to share their opinions/reviews?? LOL I even called Angie's list, who (surprisingly) told me it would probably not be worth it to buy a subscritpion since they only have one company listed for the Hampton Roads area and it has a F rating.

Again, Thanks!
