Eh, it is good to see the area getting positive press but I don't put a whole lot of stock in these lists... they come up with a set of criteria, input the parameters, and a computer spits out a solution. Next week Forbes will come out with a different list with different answers because they included one other key variable like cost of living which kills Honolulu, destroys San Diego and knocks VB down a notch or two.

Overall, I guess I feel like it confirms what we already know: Virginia Beach is a pretty nice place with low violent crime (lower rates than San Diego or Honolulu for all the haters out there), good schools, lots of parks, and a reasonable amount of things to do (even if it does not have the "character" that other cities may have).

Thanks for posting this...this is why I want to move back to VB.....Charleston, Sc did not even make the list...

And, the photo is my favorite place ...the chesapeake bay bridge tunnel right on chick's beach!

Actually, I see that it is the pier on 14 th street and the beach
