i have never boarded my dogs but will have to this december for a few days. i have searched online and found Sterling Meadows Kennel and Cattery and Holly Ridge Manor Canine Country Club: Premium Dog Boarding, Daycare, Playground. any opinions/personal experience with these kennels? i would prefer a sitter, but one of my dogs has a very high energy level and needs daily exercise which i think would be accomplished better at a boarding facility with experienced employes and other dogs.

We had a friend refer us to Sterling Meadows because we were not happy with our vet and their boarding facility. I took a trip out there and was really impressed with them. The dogs aren't stuck in a little cage, they have a pretty good size area in which to move around. Also, each pen for the dog is indoors and outdoors, so they can come in from the cold or rain but also be outside if the weather cooperates. The rates are pretty reasonable and it just seemed like it would be a better fit for our 'high energy' dog. The staff said they clean the facility twice a day and the day I went, it was spotless. I was impressed and we ended up boarding our dog there. We will probably use them exclusively from now on. I would definitely recommend you check them out.

I swear by Shipps Corner in VB. Our favorite short person with fur stays in the more private room with one care giver. All the techs are trained and they have a 2 hour yard time and various walks.
