What's it like in the Churchland area now? Good, bad? How is crime, traffic, schools? Lived there a lifetime ago, and just wondering how it is now. Thanks!

I have been living there for many years. We have owned our home in Windy Pines section since 1987. We love our neighborhood. Great neighbors, safe, and recently.....mosquito controlled! Yay.

The location is perfect for Hampton Roads. Right in the middle of it all.

I also think the area is very good. Sterling Point has been a first-class neighborhood since it was built in the 1930s. It's never wavered.

I'd stay away from Hunter's Point though. Long story. I've got a friend out there who tells me crime is up in that area.

Sterling Point, Green Acres, and all those neighborhoods just off the Churchland Bridge have always been super safe.

How about Cavalier Forest? I lived there as a child and went to Churchland Elementary.

Still pretty good neighborhood and Churchland Elementary is still a top performing school.

I think you would like the Western Branch region, adjacent to Churchland. Good schools, newer more upscale housing too. Harborview region of N. Suffolk has really nice housing options, schools are ok.
