Im originally from NJ and my fiance is getting a job in Hampton. I heard that living by Ft. Eustis and the Menchville area in Newport News is better than living in Hampton. Just wanted to know if this was true or not, or if there's any better places to live near there? Please let me know!

Williamsburg is nice too. I work with people who commute from Ft. Eustis and make the drive each day to Virginia Beach. I always say, you can choose where you want to live and enjoy the time at home, once you get there.

The Menchville area is nice. Don't forget to check out Kiln Creek and southern York County though.

Good advice all around - I live in the Menchville area, and would recommend it, as well as Kiln Creek & York County areas - there are many other good little areas around as well. Williamsburg might be a little drive, but it is on the same side of the water, and about 1/2 the folks I work with drive down to NN from Williamsburg every day.
