I use that map all the time. My neighborhood shows three events, two of them are not mapped correctly and the address is actually in another neighborhood down the street.

Hate to break it to you but crime is everywhere. The area is generally "safe" You didn't say where you live now but if you feel safe there you'll feel safe in Williamsburg. Did you look at previous years and count the incidents ? Are you seeing a dramatic change ? I indicated in a previous post what I saw from an analysus of the stats. What area are you living in now ? Lets compare crime rates ? I know many cops in the area, chat with one with you visit. They will confirm that crime in our area is negligible compared to other regions. Crime seems concentrated in small pocket areas. Another thing to consider is many crimes are domestic disputes that occur in homes between family members.

OK, here is a direct comparison of crime rates in Albemarle County versus James City County from the VA State Police reports (2010). The first number is crime incidents per 100k population , JCC wins, next up is murders, Albemarle 2 JCC zero, JCC wins, next up is forcible rape,. Albemarle 27 JCC 7 again JCC wins, to be fair you need to compare populations when comparing since JCC is 2/3 the size of Albemarle, robbery 22 in Albemarle, 11 in JCC again JCC wins.

To sum it up if you feel safe in Crozet you will feel safer here...
