Me and my wife are looking at the Crafton area for houses,is anyone actually familiar with the area?

We have herd a lot of negative things about Portsmouth from people who don't live there, then we met a few people who have lived there or do live there now and have been pretty positive about atleast old historic Portsmouth.

Crafton is a bit south of there and you go threw some iffy nieghborhoods to get there but it seems kinda nice in the nieghborhood and the seem to be fixing things up.

It doesn't seem the schools are that good but we don't have any children, but are considering adopting...

Just looking to see what we may be getting into..

Default Crafton?

I know Portsmouth like the back of my hand, but I don't remember a Crafton section. You don't mean Cradock, do you?

As to Portsmouth, it gets a bad rap. Like any southeastern city, there are good sections, so-so sections and really bad sections of town.

I grew up in Waterview, and it's still one of the best places to live in all of Hampton Roads. And Sterling Point (in Churchland) is also a great area.

My husband works in Norfolk, elsewise I'd live in Portsmouth in a heart - beat. Better roads and less traffic and the housing prices are much, much lower.
