Hi everyone! My husband will be working at Fort Eustis, but we won't be living on base or anything like that.

We need to know which area will work best for our family. We are not looking to buy, and are hoping to be able to rent a house or find a townhouse in a great area - possibly an apartment, but only if they are big enough.

Since we won't be able to visit the area before we relocate I really am going into this search for a new place to live blind. It's scary and very stressful.

We would like to live somewhere that has a nice suburbia feel too it. Kids playing outside with each other, riding bikes and whatnot. Neighbors who are friendly to one another. Low crime rate. Our son is 9 years old so we need to make sure the area also has a good elementary school (he'll be starting 4th grade) as well as a middle school. Public school.

My husband is willing to travel about a 45 minute commute or so from the area we wind up choosing. I have been seeing a lot of good things about some of the schools in Williamsburg - is that a good area to raise a family?

We are willing to spend $1,400-$1,500 per month on rent for a 3+ bedroom. I work from home so I need an extra room for our home office.

Thank you in advance for any advice you might have. If you need any more information to narrow down your suggestions, please let me know!!
