My daughter is getting older and we are thinking about moving to a safer environment where she can grow and make friends. We are looking for good school district and a diverse community in possibly the williamsburg, yorktown or suffolk area. Does anyone know about safe diverse neighborhood more so williamsburg and yorktown area but also looking at suffolk. So far eagle habor seems good but want other options.

I don't know anything about those areas. I'm new and I live in West Ghent and my area is great for kids. There isn't a day I get home from work when at least 4 kids aren't playing outside on my street. There's some young teens next door and on the next street over. It's an incredibly friendly neighborhood.
Sorry if this isn't helpful. Just thought I would add a post. Good luck.

I actually provide services for a family up in the Wburg area but they attend a York school, Magruder. Their neighborhood has quite a few kids who play outside in the street (middle class so don't look down at that). So you will see families riding bikes together, playing ball together, boys doing remote control cars up and down the street/cul-de-sac, and so on. It reminds me of a Hallmark or picture perfect street. lol
I would definitely recommend York schools over Wburg in a heartbeat.
There are other schools in York that I really like too but I can't vouch for great neighborhoods because I don't visit them a lot. There are a few neighborhoods I wouldn't mind checking out though around Tabb and Mt. Vernon elementary.
Wburg has some good neighborhoods but I just didn't care to live there. I am more of a middle class kind of girl and don't like "competing" (my child did/does, big ticket items/vacations, appearances, etc.).

I have heard similar nice things about Ghent

Is commuting proximity to a certain location for a job important? This will help narrow down the choices.
