Time is kind of an issue right now because I am trying to get out of a very unpleasant living situation, so I need to move May 1st if possible and the second week in May at the latest just to get away from the negativity around me. So if I cannot get the money together for VA Beach, Hampton is still there, and I can still have time to look for another property somewhere else, but not a lot of time at all since it is already the 11th of April.
It would really help to know the location in Hampton and where you are working.

While I would not put it in Randomdude's exact words I do think Hampton has the least amount of redeeming qualities to offer of all the cities in HR. However there are safe areas that are solid value. One area I would think of is along Magruder Blvd from I-64 heading all the way into York County another area would be Big Bethel Rd North of Todd's Ln.

See, if you can afford Hampton and possible VA Beach than you can afford any place in Hampton Roads most likely.

Like I said, I just think you need to explore some of the other cities and not just focus on Hampton and VA Beach.

Alternatively, you can go cruising anywhere near Hampton University and Buckroe beach up to to the Fox Hill Road area, and see the exact same thing.

You wont find that anywhere in Virginia Beach outside of Virginia Beach Blvd from First Colonial to Birdneck.
I wouldn't send my kids to any of the public schools around here but to each their own.

Why are your only options Hampton and Virginia Beach? Is that just the two places that you have found rentals in your price range that are willing to work with you or is there some other limiting factor?....
Yes these are the reasons, but from what I've been reading, it really seems that Hampton is not what I am looking for in the long term. She just seemed so willing to work with me, that I was hoping, but I guess there was that catch to it. I guess I'll just keep looking. Thank you guys.
