I am moving to Virginia Beach in a little less then 2 months. I was wondering what kind of play groups or mom groups there are. I have 2 boys. Ages are 4 in July and 8 in August. My oldest is having a hard time leaving his friends here so I'm trying to find a way to introduce him to kids there. He will be going to Brookwood elementary. Any opinions on this school would be helpful as well.

ctruax7707, I googled "playgroups in Virginia Beach" and this was the first website in the list. Maybe it'll help you find a group for your boys.

As for school information, try doing a search of the posts here at City-Data first. If that doesn't help, you might try www.greatschools.org.

Good luck and welcome to Virginia Beach!

I run a local Play Group here in Va Beach. PM me if you'd like me to add you to our facebook page to keep up with events.

I'm also moving to the Hampton Roads area this summer (Norfolk) and am looking to join a play group with my son who will be 6 months. Any other moms know of any? Thank you!
