Has anyone tried taking the bus/trolley in Williamsburg? Especially from a hotel to the "colonial" part of Williamsburg (or to W&M Campus). Did it work well? Is it ok to wait for a bus after dark? We're thinking of taking one from Hilton Garden Inn to Open Mic Night, so we would be heading home probably after 9. Any thoughts?

Also, is the bus better or the trolley?

I would have no qualms waiting for the Trolley at 9pm in town if that answers your question. We have used it a few times but normally drive in and park. Helpful for W&M football games, you can park in High Street or New Town and take the Trolley to the game. $1 round trip. .50 over 60, free for kids

Parking in New Town and taking the trolley to the more congested areas like William and Mary and the Colonial area is my new favorite tip to pass along. Definitely beats looking for parking.
