Is that off Bennett's pasture road? The name is awfully familiar. If so it would probably be okay. The only thing is that extra drive from the highway really gets tiring. If you don't mind that though you can always check out Harbor Breeze, Gov's Pointe, or Founder's Point if you really don't mind being further out.

I did see some nice houses in those neighborhoods you mentioned...they do see far out there though. Is it an issue to be across that bridge? Just found out it he likes the job (and they like him) he may office out of Suffolk instead of Portsmouth.
I do like to be near decent shopping...we have Harris Teeters and Trader Joes in Charlotte. I mainly shop at those 2 plus Walmart. Target and Costco.

Love CostCo, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, TArget, Walmart, etc. also would you say people are generally friendly there?

Thanks and Happy 4th of July!
Whole Foods and Trader Joes are in VA Beach.

No, both the Monitor Merrimac and James River Bridge are breezes to get through.

If you're going to be in either Portsmouth or Suffolk, like I said, you don't want to be in VA Beach. You'll have plenty of shopping as mentioned above. The only thing would be the Whole Foods, but like I said, I don't think they're even open yet. Trader Joe's is in Newport News, Williamsburg and VA Beach.

We currently have a 5 BR/5BA home with a walkout finished basement, 3 car garage, nice wooded lot, wood floors, great kitchen, tons of storage, etc. and would be looking for something similar that is newer (our house is 2 years old) Our boys are out of school so that is not as great of a concern. We love to boat so being near the water would be good too. Any inputs with pros and cons of areas or recommendations would be most appreciated!

My family has lived here since 1946. I have had 4 children in all the elementary, and high schools .lived all over portsmouth. Since 2000-2012 the crime has risen badly.
