There was a notice in today's paper, but I can't locate the notice in the online version to put up a link to it. I'll keep trying to find it so I can link to it and then edit this post.



Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) will distribute applications for assisted-rental housing 2,3,4,5 and 6 bedroom family communities and 2 bedroom midrise communities on Thursdays ONLY between the hours of 9am and noon beginning Thursday, August 23 2012 and ending Thursday, October 25, 2012.

Applications will be available at www.nrha.us.

Applications may also be picked up at the following NRHA locations on Thursdays between 9am and 12noon only:

910 Ballentine Blvd
201 Granby Street - First Floor
Calvert Square
Young Terrace
Tidewater Garden
Diggs Town
Oakleaf Forest
Grandy Village
Partrea Midrise
Huntersquare Midrise
Sykes Midrise
Bobbitt Midrise
Frank Arms Midrise

If you need reasonable accommodation, please call 757.624.8615. The TDD number will be available as a reasonable accommodation by calling 1.800.545.1833.

All applications must be mailed in and postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service no later than October 25, 2012. Hand-delivered, faxed or Express Mail will not be accepted.

The assisted-rental housting waiting list closes October 25, 2012.



Communities - Income Limit 80% of AMI:
Diggs Town, Oakleaf Forest, Grandy Village, Young Terrace, Calvert Square, Tidewater Gardens.

Midrises: (Elderly and Disabled) Income limits - 80% of AMI
Sykes, Huntersquare Partrea and Bobbitt

Tax Credit Properties: (Elderly only) - Franklin Arms; Maximum income limits - 40% or 50% of AMI

Grandy Revitalization (Workforce Community); Maximum Income limits - 60% of AMI

Criteria for families to move into Grandy Revitalization include:
* Employed for past 12 months and working at least 30 hours per week, unless elderly or disabled household.

* Must have acceptable landlord reference for the last 12 months.

* Children must be attending and in good standing as defined by the Norfolk Public School System.

* Any household member who is 16 years of age and older and not attending school full time shall be employed at minimum 20 hours per week and involved in a job training or vocational program.

I've already applied to Grandy. Are there any others on that list I should apply for?
