It's that time of year again. The Virginia Beach Neptune Festival will host its finale weekend!

The North American Sandsculpting Championship - Neptune's Kingdom: Land of Sand
Friday, September 28 through Monday, October 7 (ten days!)
4th - 10th streets at the Oceanfront

Sandsculpting competition hours (tent closed, free viewing from the Boardwalk) are Tuesday-Thursday, Sept 25-27 from 8am to 6pm.

Sandsculpting tent hours and admission:
$3 admission, free for children under 12 with an adult, no pets permitted in the tent.
Friday-Saturday, Sept 28-29 - 9am to 11pm
Sunday, Sept 30 - 9am to 9pm
Monday-Friday, October 1-5 - 10am to 6pm
Saturday-Sunday, Oct 6-7 - 10am to 8pm

Boardwalk Weekend - 2nd through 36th streets at the Oceanfront
Friday, September 28 - Noon to 11pm
Saturday, September 29 - 10am to 11pm
Sunday, September 30 - 10am to 6pm


Daily concerts at festival stages (17th Street park, 24th Street park, and 31st Street park). Neptune's Teen Stage is at 13th Street.
Concert hours:
Friday - 6pm to 11pm
Saturday - 1pm to 11pm
Sunday - 1pm to 6pm

Neptune's Art and Craft Show - 18th to 29th Streets on the Boardwalk
Friday - Noon to 7pm
Saturday - 10am to 7pm
Sunday - 10am to 6pm

Features over 300 artisans displaying handmade work from paintings and sculptures, to photography and glasswork. Viewing is free and open to the public.

Neptune's Surfing Classic - 8th Street at the Oceanfront
Saturday-Sunday, Sept 28-29
Competition schedule of events will be posted to the ESA Newsline at (757) 455-5094 by Wednesday, September 26, and any last minute changes to the schedule will be posted on the beach and on the Newsline. For more information contact 757-696-1050

Neptune's Volleyball Tournament - 32nd to 36th Streets at the Oceanfront
Saturday-Sunday, Sept 28-29
Games begin at 9am on both days. For more information contact Volleyball Virginia at 757-467-4719.

Neptune's Atlantic Regatta - At the oceanfront from Cape Henry to Rudee's Inlet
Saturday-Sunday, Sept 28-29
8am to 3pm
Check out the boats arrival at Rudee Inlet in the afternoon or hang out at 24th Street Park to watch the finish.

Neptune Festival Grand Parade - 16th to 32nd Streets
11:30am - 1:00pm
Make sure you get there early for front row seating as many of the floats will have beads and other fun toss aways to give to the crowd. As a highlight of Neptune Festival, this free event is a must for all, young and old alike. So take a seat on the curb and watch the entertainment roll by. This event is free and open to the public, and will take place RAIN OR SHINE! For more information, contact the Neptune Festival office at (757) 498-0215.

Fireworks Extravaganza - 14th Street pier
9:00-9:30pm
The fireworks are shot off the 14th Street Pier, but can be viewed from any point along the boardwalk.

Neptune's 8K and 5K Run - Start/finish at 24th Street at the Oceanfront
Sunday, Sept 29
7:45am - 11am

Hometown Heroes: Neptune's Final Toast - Hilton 31 Ocean Ballroom
9am to Noon
Local heroes will be honored during a Sunday breakfast by the sea in the Peacock Ballroom of the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Please call the Neptune Festival office at (757) 498-0215 for more information. $25.00/Adult, $15/Children under 12

Youth Art Show - 27th and 28th Streets
10:00am to 5:00pm
Open to all young artists, grades 9-12. Pre-registration is required to participate, but viewing is free and open to the public. For more information, contact 757-323-0959.

Get To Virginia Beach by Air, Land or Sea - Virginia Beach CVB

Festival transportation:
HRT Trolleys will run along Atlantic Avenue between 1st and 42nd Streets between 8 a.m. and Midnight throughout the Boardwalk Weekend. Rides are just $1 each. Trolley stops are located up and down Atlantic Avenue. Trolleys arrive approximately every 15 minutes, but can take longer due to heavier traffic on event weekends. Visit VB Wave | Hampton Roads Transit for more information on oceanfront transportation.

First aid station: located at 16th Street

Road closures:
Atlantic Avenue (between 5th-32nd Streets) will be closed Saturday, September 29th from 7:00am-9:15am, and again from 10:00am-1:00pm.

Thanks Lily Lady! I won't be able to visit and enjoy it , as I will not be coming back to Va. Beach until next year now. I really don't want to miss the Neptune Festival, but will have too. I will plan on coming to the the Tall Ships at Waterside next year, as this is one of my favorite things in Tidewater to return to!
