The next time that we have to sit in our cars through another Carmaggedon, i hope people start thinking about this option.

Personally, i'd love to see Harbor Park in about 5 to 10 years with a true multi-modal transportation station. Amtrak, the Tide, the Chesapeake Bay ferry, the Elizabeth River ferry, HRT buses, taxicabs, water taxis, and Greyhound all coming together at Harbor Park.

I'm not sure who this would serve. You more or less need a car on both sides.

In a related story, Norfolk wants to build a new bus transfer station to replace the horrible one at Cedar Grove. My bet would be Harbor Park because of the closeness to other modes of transportation, which would mean less need for a car, stva. :-)

Harbor Park isn't a bad idea, and I'd love to see that become a transportation hub. However, I think the city needs to develop that little stretch with more shops and businesses. Harbor Park is nice, but the surrounding area's an eyesore.
