I have an employee who got a notice to report for Jury Duty 3 weeks ago. She reported the first day. She reported to work the next day but has taken 3 different days off stating she was told to come back. Is there a way for an employer to confirm jury duty?

Thanks

The court generally gives jurors written confirmation each day they are called for the juror to take to their employer. At least that's how it's done in Portsmouth. You may be able to call the court to verify, but I am not certain about that. I do know, if a juror is told to report, written confirmation is given to the juror, but it only confirms they were called that day. It says nothing about how long they were there.

I work in the court system for the state. The clerks office gives out excuses for the jury duty time. The time can last for a bit of time. But remember each time they go to duty they should have an excuse written by the clerks office to you.
